Charlie, Bernie, Kyla + Marc
How did Charlie and Bernie come into your world?
When Marc and I moved to Melbourne he was working away a lot and we decided to get a companion so I wasn't alone - enter our first baby Charlie!
Four years later Bernie came from a Cavoodle breeder in Lara, our friends have his half brother from a previous litter and he's the perfect brother to Charlie.
How would you describe their personalities?
Charlie's extremely intelligent, you talk to him and quite often feel like he's about to open his mouth and respond with words. He's also an old soul, has always been very affectionate and loves a cuddle! Bernie is much more independent and will quite often just take himself off to bed, don't let his angel face fool you through - he's an absolute devil!
If they could tell us all something about you, what would they say?
Charlie would say how much he loves us and that Bernie is very annoying, Bernie would tell us how much he loves Charlie - go figure!
What do they love to do the most?
Both love the dog park (DP in our household), Charlie is a big fan of swimming at the beach whilst Bernie is quite happy to sit on the sand away from the scary waves!
What's everyday life like with your boys by your side?
Because we work mostly from home, the boys are with us majority of the day - we wake up (the boys much always having a sleep in of course), then head upstairs to the office where they have multiple beds to choose from (we created a little hide out for Bernie in an IKEA cube as he loves to feel protected).
Depending on the weather we go to the DP just before sunset as we love last light and that's generally when most of their doggo friends are there.
How has having your dogs changed your life?
Charlie changed my life immensely when we moved to Melbourne and I was living mostly alone, he's my best friend and in turn he's very protective of me (likely my own fault). Around the time we moved house our business had also grown quite incredibly which meant a lot less time at home, Charlie suffered from separation anxiety so we got Bernie to help him calm down - they're now inseparable!
