Eddie, Huxley + Dougal
How did Your Boys come into your world?
Eddie was my first whippet, but not the last! He entered my life a few months after I lost my previous dog, and he's become a big part of me, I'd be lost without him. Huxley came along next, when Eddie was about 5. He's such a good boy and even though he's not the baby anymore, he's still treated like he is. Dougal is our third Whippet, and boy is he a lot of energy in a small package. I think our family is maxed out now at the three dogs, but each one brings so much joy to our lives.
How would you describe their personalities?
It's crazy how different their personalities can be. Eddie is super chill and laid back, he's not bothered by much. He does like to be a velcro dog, especially following his dad around. Huxley on the other hand is a lot more reserved, but if he knows you well you'll get lots of his cute tail wags and kisses. Dougal is a ball of energy who brings out the puppy again in his two older brothers. He never sits still for long, zooming around the yard or sitting on his brothers trying to get them to play.
If they could tell us all something about you, what would they say?
Hopefully they'd have a lot of nice things to say, but it'd probably be that they don't get enough treats haha. I think they'd tell their dad how much they love wrestling with him and maybe how they like my snuggles the best, especially when we all have an afternoon nap together.
What do they love to do the most?
Eddie loves his butt scratchies the most, he will even present his behind to you. He also likes to nibble his stuffed toys, he never rips them apart, just licks and nibbles them. Huxley can be found napping most of the time, especially under a blanket! For a whippet, he's pretty lazy. Dougal still likes getting up to mischief, especially if it involves ripping up paper/cardboard.
What's everyday life like with your dogs by your side?
Every day is amazing with the three boys. Sure they frustrate us sometimes, but nothing beats watching them sniff around the yard, doing zoomies together or just snoring on the lounge in roach position. They're always underfoot, and trying to steal food, but we wouldn't change them for anything.
How has having your dogs changed your lives?
We're never alone! Some personal space every now and then wouldn't hurt but having a long whippet snoot poke your face for kisses is pretty awesome. They've helped my (Chloe) anxiety a lot, especially Ed, he's my unofficial support dog. Nathaniel probably didn't plan for 3 whippets when he met me, but he's adapted quite well haha. Huxley is the first dog that is (mostly) his, and I think Hux brings out his sensitive side a lot.
We're so happy to have done another photoshoot with Dani. It was mostly so we'd have some professional photos of Dougal to hang around the house, but getting some shots with Eddie now he's getting on in years is something we'll treasure forever.
